Privacy Policy

Daily Compound ("the app," "we," "us") is a personal habit, goal, and progress-tracking app covering health, financial, and happiness goals. This policy explains what information the app works with and how it's handled. It applies to the Daily Compound mobile app and to this website.

The short version

Daily Compound doesn't have its own servers, doesn't run ads, and doesn't sell or share your data. Your goals, rewards, net worth, and weight entries are stored on your device and privately backed up to your own iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit, so your data follows you across your devices and survives a reinstall. Nobody at Daily Compound, including us, can see it. The one exception is the optional Challenges feature: if you create or join one, a limited set of information (covered below) is stored in a way other participants in that specific challenge can see.

Information you enter into the app

To use Daily Compound, you may enter information such as:

• Daily goals and checklist entries, organized into categories (Health, Financial, and Happiness by default; you can rename, recolor, or add your own)
• Account balances or net worth figures you choose to log
• Weight entries and progress goals
• Long-term rewards you attach to goals, including links and prices
• Challenge details you create or join, and the display name you use with other participants

This information is stored locally on your device and privately synced to your own iCloud account (via Apple's CloudKit) so it's backed up and available across your devices. This private sync is scoped to your Apple ID. Daily Compound has no access to it, no copy of it sits on a server we operate, and it is never shared with other users or third parties.

Apple Health

If you turn on Health-tracked goals, Daily Compound asks for permission to read specific data from Apple Health, currently step count, active energy burned, and dietary energy (calories) consumed, so it can automatically check off a matching goal once you've hit your target for the day. This data is read on-device only, is used solely for that auto-completion feature, and is never transmitted off your device by Daily Compound. You can turn this permission off at any time in your device's Settings, and the app will simply stop auto-completing those goals.

Reward links

When you attach a link to a reward, the app fetches a preview image and title from that page (using Apple's built-in link-preview tools) so it can show a nice card in the Rewards tab. This means a request is made to whatever URL you've entered, the same way it would be if you opened that link in a browser.

Data shared with other participants (Challenges)

Challenges work differently from the rest of the app. To let you and friends compete on a shared streak, challenge data (the challenge name, your join code, your display name, your shared goals, and your daily completions for that challenge) is stored using Apple CloudKit in a way that anyone with the matching join code can read, so the leaderboard can work for everyone in the challenge. Don't share a challenge's join code with anyone you don't want seeing that information. This is limited to what's needed to run the Challenges feature. It does not include your personal goals, net worth, weight, or anything outside that specific challenge.

Information we do not collect

We do not require an account or login to use the app, and we do not collect your name, email address, or financial account credentials through the app itself. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell personal data. There is no data-sharing business model behind Daily Compound.

Device permissions

The app may request permissions, Notifications (to remind you about your daily goals) and optionally Health (described above), that are each used strictly for their stated purpose. You can review and revoke any permission at any time in your device's Settings.

Your control over your data

You're always in control of your data:

• Deleting an entry or goal in the app deletes it from your device (and your private iCloud sync) immediately.
• Settings → Export My Data saves everything, goals, rewards, net worth, and weight history, to a file you can keep as your own personal backup, independent of iCloud.
• Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device; your private iCloud backup can be cleared from your iPhone's iCloud storage settings.

Children's privacy

Daily Compound is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If Daily Compound's features change in a way that affects how data is handled (for example, if we introduce analytics, crash reporting, or any new third-party service), we'll update this page and change the effective date above before that change takes effect.
